Carbon molecule micro machine?

if you elongate a carbon 60 or 70 molecule and pass a stream of electrons through .does the structure exert any resistance to the stream. could it form part of a micro machine ie computing ability. would the molecule try to revert to its stable state or would the stream stabalise its elongated structure .
