Have ancient aliens visited the earth and seeded humanity?

Given the lack of substantial evidence, I would say some form of advanced knowledge was lost. Whether the knowledge came from people or elsewhere is speculative. The universe is impressive, I definitely would not be surprised by extraterrestrial contact.
