So there is now COD and BF fanboy wars?

Ok so i am constantly seeing people fight over wether COD MW3 or BF 3 is going to be better and i mean they get into it. I see people threatening one another because they thing one is better over the other. Why do people fight over the dumbest stuff? Its a game people its meant to be played for fun and enjoyment. I dont see nearly as many PS3 VS 360 fanboy wars (still out there dont get me wrong) but now its seems that the wars are about COD and Battlefield. Why are people so small minded that they have to fight over a video game? Both games will be great, yea one is more realistic, but one will more than likely have a better multiplayer (always like BF gameplay more than COD but liked COD multiplayer more than BF).
